http://sleepingroom.de/welcome2010/There was also a special event "SECRET GIG". During the show Christopher played 11 new tracks from the upcoming album. Here is a small review by "Mazz"
Hi folks,
I arrived around 6:00 pm (show was scheduled for 8:00 pm) in the "Heimathafen" in Berlin-Neukölln. The place filled up slowly and around 7:30 pm Kim Sanders and Christophers parents showed up. But Kim was in the dress of a visitor, not in stage-clothes.
Around quarter to 8:00 the hall opened and seats were taken (by direction of an occicial). The small stage for the three musicians had been positioned in the center of the hall and was encircled by the tracks of the two mobile cameras on small wagons, to monitor the gig. Seats were pretty close to the stage: I sat around 8 ft. from the stage, right behind Christian. All of the 100 seats were taken, I counted even more than 100 people. It was a really cozy almost festive atmosphere, as everybody was dressed in black and the hall was in some neo-classical style.
After some minutes of "Einlassmusik" the three musicians Christopher, Christian and Cliff appeared on stage and Christopher sent a warm welcome to the fans for the "first concert in 2010".
The band played 13 songs (this is at least what I remember ) - only two of them were familiar stuff ("Schiller" and "Irrlicht") - all of the other songs were taken from the new album. Christopher did not mention the titles of the tracks, but after the show I caught a glimpse of his Mac screen and took a pic with some cryptical file-names of the songs.
Two of the songs "Polar" and "Thursday" (Christopher renamed this track last night to "Himmelblau") are real up-tempo tracks in a trance/dance-style, somehow comparable to songs like "Nachtflug" or "Sommernacht". Real catchy melodies, nice phat beats ... prepare your neighbours for the arrival of the CD.
The other songs like "Night", "Turn around" or some untitled tracks were slower, more ambient and with less percussion. "Tiefblau" is the song of the Welcome 2010-card, but it was presented with more percussion compared to the online-version.
After 10 songs there was a break and after that the band repeated "Polar" and "Thursday" in the now laser-illuminated hall.
The show ended after around 100 min. with a big applause of a very impressed audience and Christopher was quite happy to receive such a positive feedback for his hard work!!
Five cameras (two on the circular track round the stage and three movable ones) monitored every detail of the show. The cams on track circled the stage every 3 mins. constantly during the show. This was a little annoying, as they moved as often between my eyes and the band - but who dares to complain about this detail.
After the show only Christian showed up to collect his equipment. Christopher seemed to need a rest and he had already announced during the show, that he wanted to return to his studio to finalize the album.
To sum things up: A perfect and exclusive event, which was well organised. After hearing this first "bits" of the upcoming album it's even harder to await the release of the CD in march.
And here is probably new album cover
